Deb Rhymer was born and raised in Victoria making her vocalist debut at age 17 with the rock group “Hostage”. In 1997 she was singing with a band “No Fixed Address” and her love of the blues began! Known for a dynamic voice and unique bluesy style, Deb has had the opportunity to work with some of Victoria's best musicians and is one of the original founders of the “Victoria Blues Society”. Her first CD was released in 2006 and received excellent reviews with select songs featured on the CBC Radio One's Saturday Night Blues with host Holger Peterson. Deb performs at a variety of venues, festivals & events including the Vancouver Island Blues Bash which she'll kickoff this years final day, Monday September 05, at 12:00 PM with her group, The Deb Rhymer Band. That same band also hosts Victoria's “Sunday Blues Services” at the Hideaway located in the Tallyho Motor Inn every Sunday from 3:00pm-7:30pm. and if that doesn't keep her busy enough, she's also performing in a duo with guitarist Victor Wells for some selected dates while putting the finishing touches on her latest recording project. She is truly a “lady of the blues”.Written August 2016.
