About

Roxanne Potvin

Roxanne Potvin, the 23-year-old bilingual Ottawa singer, guitarist and songwriter who
has emerged as not just an exciting new blues artist, but as a bright new artist.

With the release of her debut album, Careless Loving, Roxanne Potvin’s reputation
quickly spread throughout roots music circles all over North America and beyond. She
was requested to perform at a major festival in France a couple of years ago and has
now played to enthused full houses at the prestigious Toronto Women's Blues Review
show twice - most recently this past November at Massey Hall.

Make no mistake, blues certainly underscores the foundation of Roxanne’s music, but it
does not limit her scope as she expands her horizons on her brand new CD, The Way It
Feels. It’s a vibrant new recording produced by Juno and Grammy-winning Colin Linden,
The CD is a varied and powerful collection of songs - mostly originals that range from
hard-driving, horn-laced R&B such as “A Love That’s Simple” which features Roxanne
singing with John Hiatt, and an intimate folk duet with Daniel Lanois on “La Merveille”.

Roxanne Potvin is blessed with talent, style and considerable on-stage grace. She is an
artist who is emerging rapidly as one of the most talked-about young performers in
Canada. Her new CD is already creating a buzz that will be certain to follow through on
her live performances as she tours in support of The Way It Feels throughout 2006.
