Roxanne Potvin, the 23-year-old bilingual Ottawa singer, guitarist and songwriter who has emerged as not just an exciting new blues artist, but as a bright new artist. With the release of her debut album, Careless Loving, Roxanne Potvin’s reputation quickly spread throughout roots music circles all over North America and beyond. She was requested to perform at a major festival in France a couple of years ago and has now played to enthused full houses at the prestigious Toronto Women's Blues Review show twice - most recently this past November at Massey Hall. Make no mistake, blues certainly underscores the foundation of Roxanne’s music, but it does not limit her scope as she expands her horizons on her brand new CD, The Way It Feels. It’s a vibrant new recording produced by Juno and Grammy-winning Colin Linden, The CD is a varied and powerful collection of songs - mostly originals that range from hard-driving, horn-laced R&B such as “A Love That’s Simple” which features Roxanne singing with John Hiatt, and an intimate folk duet with Daniel Lanois on “La Merveille”.
