About

America

Label: Rhino Records
A Horse With No Name. Sister Golden Hair. Ventura Highway. Tin Man. Lonely People. The songs of America were staples of the folk-rock movement in the early '70s, much as the band itself was thanks to its meteoric rise to worldwide fame and string of No.1 hits. Yet what makes the Grammy Award-winning America such a revelation is not only their past achievements, but their continued success. The duo, featuring founding members Dewey Bunnell (vocals/guitar) and Gerry Beckley (vocals/guitar), continues to perform over 150 shows a year - including the current 42-date jaunt which brings them to Rootsfest this year, the band's first show on Island soil in close to 15 years
