About

Lindy

Edgy. Dark. Stylized. Hushed. Anthemic. All words used to describe Toronto band, LINDY. Dark, modern pop at it's cutting edge best,
LINDY combines 'A' level songwriting with a 'big' sound that is both intimate and powerful at the same time. Sounding at once
familiar, yet completely original; once you hear them, you're hooked.

LINDY's new CD, The Humorous Years, has been hailed everywhere from the N.M.E to Much Music. Featuring songs like "Bliss" and "I Want Everything", the band "displays a gift for soaring, melancholy guitar pop that brings to mind groups like the Smiths, Suede, or Radiohead. Big, intimate, classic. You know it, you'll love it."

Together just a short year and a half, LINDY already possesses the kind of song arsenal that most young bands would kill for. The band
has toured North America and Ireland and this year plans on taking their powerhouse live set to the U.S., the U.K., and Australia.

The band is led by the compelling, soaring vocals of Lindy Vopnfjord. A standout singer-songwriter, Lindy has over 350 compositions to his credit as well as a solo 1998 E.M.I. CD. Guitarist Rich Ragany comes
to the band by way of popular Canadian band Red Autumn Fall. Rich has an unforgettable style, definitely in the tradition of post punk greats
like Johnny Marr, Bernard Butler, or the Edge. Bassist Jackie Duncan played in Red Autumn Fall as well and was also an original member of
Toronto glam rockers, Robin Black. Jackie's super melodic playing holds the whole glorious thing together. Drummer Belvy K. brings a
sexy swagger and confidence to the LINDY sound. Belvy spent the last 4 years fronting acclaimed N.Y. glam punk band Libertine, and has a
drum resume that includes D Generation, U.K. Subs, 7 Seconds, Tuuli, and others.
