Kristin Sweetland began her guitar-pickin' career at age 13 with a red electric Stratocaster that matched her lipstick. Now she's being hailed as one of Canada's "hottest young guitar players" much lauded for both her intricate instrumental guitarwork and deep poetic lyricism. Described as "a cross between Loreena McKennitt and a young Lucinda Williams" Kristin's songwriting draws on themes from Greek mythology, ancient mysticism, Civil War battles, ghost stories and travelling road-warrioring (with a good standard dose of ye-olde heartbreak.) The music combines broad influences from roots, classical, world music and rock'n roll traditions in a way that is rich, delicious and utterly refined.
