The Mike Allen Trio performs original material and classic jazz tunes with influences ranging from Sonny Rollins to Ornette Coleman to Joe Henderson. The trio's Western Canadian Music Award winning album "Dialectic", showcases the dynamism and range of emotion of its music. Coda Magazine says the Mike Allen Trio "makes a substantial contribution to the genre" of saxophone-led trios.
