While acting and doing commercials as a boy, Jared Fowler realized that he loved performing. Jared began his music career on the banjo and then 3 years later traded up to the acoustic rhythm guitar because he thought it would make him more popular with the ladies. When he was 19, Jared traveled with his guitar across America, playing in every state from Washington to Arkansas.
In 2005, after a hiatus from the music scene, Jared began playing at local festivals, cafés and restaurants. In October 2009, he began recording his debut EP Vancouver Rain, which was produced by Joel Noftle, at Tree Stump Studios. After a March album release, Jared toured across western Canada promoting his album. One of his stops was Merritt’s Iron Mountain Music Capital stage, where he performed in support of AIDS research.
Jared is recording his second album, which is set to release in summer of 2012, and planning a 2012 cross-Canada tour from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland.
In 2010, Jared was chosen as the official selection for Syllabus music agency radio play in the UK and was also given an honorable mention in the Artist Forum International song writing competition. Jared has been featured on CBC Radio 3 Internet and live radio broadcast across British Columbia. Jared has also been featured in the BC Songwriters’ Association Showcase 3 times since 2009.
Jared Fowler currently lives in Aldergrove with his wife and 5 children, and owns an IT consulting company that operates in BC and Alberta.
