About

Heart Break Mountain

circa 70s
The original Heartbreak Mountain Band was: Don Audet, harmonica, lead vocals, piano; Clark Brendon, bass, guitar, pedal steel and vocals; Victor Wells, guitar and vocals; Chuck Owens on drums and vocals. Later on, Drivin joined us on bass, guitar, and piano. Talk about a versatile bunch! We played blues and country, mainly, with many original songs by all members, particularly, Don Audet's. At first in Victoria, and up and down Vancouver Island, and, over a period of a year and a half (Dec. '78 to mid-1980), the band played hotels, mostly, all over Western Canada. My first road band.
Heartbreak Mountain - played up and down Vancouver Island, all over B.C. and Alberta, between 1978 and 1980. The band played a mix of classic blues, roots country and other roots music, as well as originals by Don Audet. Highlights were gigs in various community halls in Victoria, Saltspring and many other gulf islands, Harpos, and legendary crazy gigs at the late Canada Hotel in Price George. Many gigs were shared with the Blue Moon Band, in Victoria and on the road. Don Curran joined the band on drums late in 1979. Cheers, Victor Wells
