The John Benders
thejohnbenders are a Seattle-based band comprised of four longtime friends dedicated to writing and performing music that is heavy and intense yet retains a sincere, emotional center. The collaborative spirit of the band affords them the opportunity to be creating continually. Shortly after their formation in early 2003, thejohnbenders recorded the song "4-Count Phil" at Shortdog Productions in Seattle, WA with the great Tony Dallas Reed (Treepeople, Goodbye Harry, 12:30 Dreamtime) acting as producer. After playing some live shows and receiving an enormous amount of airplay on local college radio stations, thejohnbenders booked the weekend of October 11-12, 2003 to record four more songs with Mr. Reed to release as their 5-Song EP. While "4-Count Phil" was recorded digitally in a single day, these four songs were recorded in two days on analog equipment for $500 at Temple Sound in Port Orchard, WA. thejohnbenders' intention is to bring emotion and honesty back to life in music. That is what the first single "4-Count Phil" is all about.
