Twin Sister

Long Island-bred indie-pop quintet Twin Sister make music that sounds like a secret. Main vocalist Andrea Estella's voice breathes like a whisper while the rest of the band pulse, reverb, and twang behind her. The result is intimate, diffuse, and even a little funky.

After criss-crossing at endless small shows on Long Island with various bands throughout their teens, the five members of Twin Sister-- Estella (22), keyboardist Dev Gupta (25), bassist Gabe D'Amico (22), guitarist-singer Eric Cardona (20), and drummer Bryan Ujueta (23)-- became friends and started trading demos and ideas back and forth. They hadn't played together much when they released 2008's Vampires With Dreaming Kids EP, which featured four brushed-up solo demos, but their new EP, Color Your Life, is more of a full-band effort. The group has built a small following over the last year, along with an increasingly hectic schedule of New York-area dates.
