In actuality just a duo, this pair of young Norwegian superstars has carved out an international career mostly by performing amazing and creative cover versions of songs by the likes of Prince, Fairport Convention, Bob Dylan, AC/DC and Leonard Cohen as well as writing their own material. Consisting of Susanna Karolina Wallumrod vocals and Morten Qvenild keyboards, the Magical Orchestra has forged a unique combination of pop music, electronica, and jazz improvisation; the resulting soundscapes are gorgeous, fragile, emotionally sophisticated, intimate, and compellingly lyrical. Starting with 2004’s List of Lights and Buoys to their latest CD 3, the Magical Orchestra has recorded several acclaimed CDs and been concert faves literally around the world.
