Montreal’s versatile reedman André Leroux – he plays tenor and soprano saxophone, flute and bass clarinet – is one of this country’s most interesting jazz artists, working in various contexts, much of it improv-based new music. Whether as an important sideman in Vic Vogel’s big band or in his own modernist saxophone quartet, Leroux consistently displays flawless technique, great tone and a knack for harmonic inventiveness. Frederic Alarie bass, Normand Devault piano and Christian Lajoie drums
“André Leroux is an excellent player whose technique is impressive and articulate.” –La Scena Musicale
