About

Valhalla Hill

Valhalla Hill formed serendipitously with the convergence of three musicians at a farewell concert in late 2007. Leaving his station as managing host of the now defunct Wired & Unplugged in everytown Snohomish, WA, principal songwriter Rory Corbin invited two fellow songwriters to join him onstage for what would have been a solo show. The resulting chemistry was unexpected and was the genesis for what would later become the four piece Valhalla Hill.

At the core of Valhalla Hill's songs--that would otherwise be cliched singer/songwriter woes of loss and regret--is a musicality centered around a driving pulse and captivating harmonies. Owing largely to producer/drummer Joey Roberts' mastery of vocal composition and arrangement, these traits become self-evident in the debut 'Go With You Got EP'.

Originally tracked in a studio in Tacoma, WA and confounded with technical maladies, the debut project moved on to churches and basements to resume tracking in an effort to reconcile technical and financial limitations with vision. The resultant tongue-in-cheek title track ultimately epitomizes the effort that is so familiar to every upstart band struggling to patchwork together a sound and define itself.
