Mezamazing

Mezamazing is an animal that was born in 2007, under strictly irrational circumstances, in a rabid, cross-cultural stew of sonic hunger. Throughout its growth our philosophy has remained the same: no blueprints, no borders, no blinders, an an absolute dedication to catharsis, frenzy, and uncompromising joy-de-vivre.

Separately we are 12, emerging from various corners of the world- from Greece to Iran, Bosnia to Russia across Alberta, India, Africa, East Van and beyond, always beyond. At the epicentre of this kaleidoscope sits Druzba, a mythical icon with teeth as sharp as her symphonic barks. Omnipresently she fuels our stamina far into the nights, steering us toward feverish pitches until all ingredients are cooked and nourishment ensues.

This is a band of diverse individuals under one tent, dedicated to community (rather than cultural fetishisms and mindless caricaturisation), to first-hand experience and a natural sacrifice of "correctness" for the sake of sincerity. It is a celebration of life's multicoloured paths- of positives, negatives and opposites, of comedies and tragedies touching glasses and sweating out uniformity- one show at a time.
