Fluffy Starr is here.

HISTORY

The concept of Fluffy Starr was born in the mind the girl as a “one grrl, lotsa machines” solo project. Out of sheer determination Fluffy taught herself how to produce, engineer and program, play several instruments, and control the machines. Not relying on anyone, she composed the first few songs. Friends: Jim and Paule made guest appearances here and there with various instruments. These songs were posted online at MP3.com to see what would happen, and as a result a fan base started to form and the song streams/downloads grew every day.

Shortly after posting the songs, Fluffy was featured in the very visible "Women of MP3.com" section with her very first interview. Around that time, one of her songs were chosen as "Editor’s Pick" and went out to millions via email. Her music was also chosen to be a part of several online ad campaigns, which brought more fans. As a result of these events, a song went to #12 the overall Top 40 (out of over a million songs in all genres). And that was only the first 6 months! Shortly after, Fluffy was chosen and starred in a video (with her song Perfect) that was chock full of stunning CG animation by Emmy Nominated Director Neill Blomkamp. This video received some airplay on Much Music. It was at this time, Jim and Paule jumped onboard in an official way.

Jim brought to the table a very fresh, unusual mind that knew no rules and limits. His fearless and driven nature only drove Fluffy to go further. Paule brought along his skills as a classically trained pianist and knowledge of various other instruments. He interfaced well with Fluffy, and was able to give her what she needed musically in real time. Both boys also brought to the table vast knowledge of producing and engineering. And also the valuable technical knowledge of hardware, where Fluffy needed help. It was a match made in heaven.

Since then, Fluffy has made an appearance on three songs of the latest Celldweller release, which has been featured in numerous movies and television. And Fluffy Starr (the band) has been offered several recording contracts and other interesting opportunities, and have caught the interest of several very successful and innovative music producers. They are holding out for the best thing that will help Fluffy realize her original vision of what Fluffy Starr was meant to be. When asked, she will tell you that they are in this to have a long and fulfilling career, not just a short stint to gain money or fame.

Fluffy is continuing forward with her band, including live drummer - Thomas, as they are performing live in various Venues in the Vancouver area. There are other interesting things on the horizon at the same time too. Her attitude is such: “Hell, yeah! Bring it on!”
