Niska Napoleon

Although only 22 years old, Niska has been performing for more than a decade. Recording her first original song at the early age of 10, she knew what she was meant to do. Growing up in a musical family encouraged Niska to grow as a musician and pursue her dream. Excelling in voice and guitar, Niska is able to capture an audience with nothing more than a microphone. Driven by the desire to succeed in the music business and deliver strong, original material, it is hard not to notice this aspiring musician who has performed throughout northern and western Canada. Touring with hip-hop groups as a young girl only fed her hunger for independence and at 16 she began her journey to find her own “original” sound. Following in the footsteps of her father and established singer-songwriter Art Napoleon, she wanted to set herself apart from the family name and began performing as Niska, an unknown in the business waiting to break out on her own. Recently digging her roots on Vancouver Island opened doors for new opportunities such as guest appearances on the New VI’s “Breakfast Television,” “The New Canoe” and opening for acts like Buffy St. Marie.
