Carlos Bica's Azul

Currently a Berlin resident, bassist/composer Carlos Bica is one of Portugal’s most prolific and innovative sound artists. Known for his lyrical tone on the double bass, Bica has the rare ability to write melodies that essentially are songs without words, haunting and unforgettable. Bica’s cultured global ear and his songwriter’s heart have met their match in his longstanding, remarkable international trio Azul. With German monster guitarist Frank Möbus and American drummer Jim Black (Bloodcount, Human Feel, Eskelin Trio), Bica creates music that is exciting, modern, and thrillingly beautiful.
