About

Ivan Lins

Vocalist/pianist/composer Ivan Lins is a superstar in his native Brazil. He came to fame in his homeland when the great Elis Regina recorded his song Magdalena and it went on to become an enormous hit. Today, Lins is renowned and beloved worldwide, thanks in large measure to the bossa nova craze of the ’60s and the many American and European artists that discovered the beauty, romance, and subtlety of Brazilian music. His most famous composition, Love Dance, has been recorded by dozens of luminaries including Nancy Wilson, George Benson, Sarah Vaughan, and Diane Schuur. Further testifying to his importance as a composer, other notable songs such as The Island, Comecar de Novo, Don Palmeira, and Nocturna have been recorded by international greats like Barbra Streisand, the Manhattan Transfer, Take 6, Sérgio Mendes, and countless others. As a performer he’s released over 30 acclaimed recordings and recently appeared as a guest on Michael Bublé’s current album, Call Me Irresponsible. Ivan Lins stands out as an enchanting performer whose musical roots have sprouted into a sound that belongs to the whole world. Magical! With Marcelo Martins saxophones, Marco Brito keyboards/vocals, Leonardo Amuedo guitar, Nema Antunes bass/vocals, Teo Lima drums/vocals.
