Born in Toronto, soprano Nancy Washeim received her Master of Music degree from McGill University with a specialisation in early music vocal performance. Engagements have included Bach's Magnificat with the McGill Baroque Orchestra, Vivaldi's Magnificat and Beatus Vir with the St. Lawrence Choir, and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana with the McGill Symphony Orchestra. As well, Ms. Washeim also appeared with Le Chœur Classique de l'Outaouais in performances of Carmina Burana, St. Saëns' Christmas Oratorio, and Bach's Magnificat. Broadcast appearances have included a Christmas concert performance with various members of Tafelmusik, aired by Radio Canada, for La Guignolée, which included Bach's Cantata 51 Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen. As a prizewinner of Montreal's Musique Française, she traveled to the abbey of Royaumont, France, to study and perform Italian music of the Middle Ages.
